How to change a hot glue gun nozzle

Step-By-Step Instructions on Changing a Hot Glue Gun Nozzle

Changing a nozzle on a hot glue gun is a relatively straightforward process but if done incorrectly it can cause serious damage to your glue gun. Because this is a hot glue gun (not just a clever name) users should also always focus on safety and take the proper precautions when changing nozzles.

Step 1: Preheat Your Hot Glue Gun

The most important step in changing a nozzle is to preheat your glue gun. If your glue gun is not warmed up you will damage it while changing the nozzle. Pre-heating the glue gun insures that the nozzle and gun will not get stripped which can cause permanent leaking problems for your glue gun.

Step 2: Use Get Your Tools

After your hot glue gun is warmed up, use a standard pliers or nozzle wrench to unscrew the nozzle. Be very careful when taking the nozzle off as it will be hot. We strongly recommend using safety gloves during this part of the nozzle changing process (we have burned ourselves a few times and don't recommend it).

Step 3: New Nozzle Time

Now that you have removed your old nozzle, it's time to add a new one. Screw in the new nozzle and until it is tight but be sure not to over tighten. For this particular glue gun, we then had to flip the silicone safety covering back over the nozzle to finish.
