The Best Glue Sticks for Packaging

Use Hot Melt for Better Packaging

Whether you’re a growing business trying to keep up with increasing order numbers or you’re just trying to find the best and most secure shipping option, your packaging system can be upgraded with hot melt. As the number of packages you send grows, so do the hidden costs and inconveniences associated with tape as a packaging method. Hot melt for packaging offers reliability and versatility and can save you time and money.

Glue Sticks

Because of the demand for high quality and cost-effective hot melt for packaging, there are a lot of packaging glue sticks on the market. To make your research and selection process easier, we’ve put together a guide to help you find the right product for your packaging needs. This guide is organized by brand but the glue stick you choose doesn't necessarily need to match the glue gun you use, as long as they are compatible for size, you're good to go!

Infinity Bond

One of our all-time favorite glue sticks for packaging is the Infinity Bond InfinityPack. It’s one of our most economical options while maintaining incredibly high quality. It offers low odor, instant tack, and a fast set time. It even works with corrugated cardboard which is notoriously stubborn.  The InfinityPack is reliable and can get almost any packaging job done, which is why it’s one of our most recommended products.

The Infinity Bond EconoPack is a great budget solution for smaller jobs. We don't recommend it for boxes over 30 pounds but it's great for standard cardboard packaging applications and it works with corrugated surfaces too.

Power Adhesives

For the strength without losing the cost-effectiveness aspect, check out the TEC Bond 14 Packaging Glue Sticks. They work particularly well on cardboard, making it the best Power Adhesives packaging glue stick, and it features a high delivery rate and ultra-quick setting time. The Power Adhesives 341 Packaging Glue Sticks are an adhesive so strong that it is also suitable for woodworking and cable work – but it sets quickly and best of all, has a much milder smell than other glue sticks, so folks that are sensitive to the odor of adhesive get a break.

Surebonder

The Surebonder 711 Glue Sticks feature a fast initial tack and a ten-second open time. If you have a large or high-volume packaging and shipping operation, you can save even more money by purchasing these glue sticks in bulk.

Ad Tech

Another one of our bestsellers is the Ad Tech 610 which is another standard temperature packaging glue stick that is great for a variety of packaging needs. It's a great value, and comes in a variety of standard and custom sizes, making them compatible with a wide array of glue guns.

Dispensing Options

Your packaging volume can help determine the best glue gun for your packaging applications. For low volume dispensing, the Infinity Bond Mojo will do the trick. If you ship irregularly or have a tight budget, this is a great option. It works with standard ½ inch glue sticks and warms up quickly so if you need it, it’s there. It’s also significantly better than craft store quality glue guns that run in the same price range.

If you are in the middle of the road of packaging volume, like a growing online business and you’re shipping an increasing amount of small orders, the Infinity Bond Scout HT is a good glue gun for light industrial use. With an operating temperature of 380 degrees Fahrenheit, it offers superior performance. Some other features we love for packaging applications are the manual stroke adjuster for fine-tuning bead size, the ultra-sturdy stand and the fast warm-up time, so it’s always ready when you need it.

If your packaging demands are high and you just can’t seem to keep up, the industrial level Infinity Bond Ranger PRO can get the job done. It’s powerful 330 Watt heater and adjustable temperature capabilities are what makes this glue gun a favorite of our customers.
