Power Adhesives Casttec 42 Precast Form and Insert Hot Melt Glue Slugs

Casttec 42 is a pale amber, synthetic polymer based hotmelt adhesive supplied in slug form for bonding wood, plastic, metal, and foam in precast concrete workflows. Use hot melt glue slugs when you need a strong, secure bond on mold bases, including applications where light oil may be present.

Formulated for extended open time application as a bead, dots, or sprayed, this adhesive helps precast concrete manufacturers replace welding or bolting inserts to forms with a less destructive alternative. After bonding, the adhesive will begin to crystalize after around 8–10 hours and becomes brittle enough after 24 hours to support easier insert removal, with remaining adhesive scraped off for disposal; hot glue slugs also support clean, consistent results during setup and cleanup.
